We finally made it to Disney World. We went with Dave and Susan (Bry's sister) and there four kiddos. Trisitn, Brandon, Shaylee, and Kaitlyn. Our first stop was Disney's Hollywood Studios. I kept calling it Planet Hollywood and eventually MGM would just come out. I was all tongue twisted. We had planned to go to a diner. We all sat in cars to eat our meals and watched old horror clips. It was mostly about UFO's, and Blobs......scary!
I had to do something. I am so addicted to carbs it's a joke. Ice cream and chocolate....they don't cut it for me. I want chips and crackers, and pretzels, cereal......whatever. Not to mention my metabolism is shot after a decade of laziness and children. I figured that my body was still a teenager and it would bounce back all on it's own......it tried to give me signs.....tired eyes, crows feet, and dry skin......I just wasn't listening. The combination of feeling this way and having persuasion to live a healthier life coming at me in all indirect directions.......i decided to take on this detox. Here is what I am doing:
(I have no idea what it's called, or who wrote it....horrible I know. I just know my friends have done it with some moderation's and it works.)
This detox is not entirely to lose weight in 3 days, and look awesome all summer long. You will lose weight, and maybe even a lot. But, this is a metabolic booster and a way to rid your body of carb and sugar and sodium cravings. This is a start for a healthier life.
Intake this food in any order For 3 days:
2 eggs cooked any way you like them As much as you like of Pure Protein. This means preservative, sodium free protein. Fish filets, roasted chicken.- Raw Almonds 2 servings of citrus- I prefer grapefruit All the raw green veggies you want Lemon Water Mrs. Dash Seasonings to season what you'd like, and olive oil for coating your pan if you need to.
I start with both eggs in the morning. then I eat my citrus lunch and dinner I did a chicken breast in between i did a lot of veggies and my other citrus.
I still took my vitamins and medicines I need daily. So be sure to not change those things. Mentally, it was really hard, getting through the first day, but I have so much energy I feel wonderful....and losing 3 pounds was a bonus. (most of that was water)
*I will not lie....this is very bland. But I love the snow pea pods....they are a bit sweet! So maybe that helps. If you struggle....go to sleep.
Day 4 start incorporating carbs back into your diet and switch out your meats for things like protein drinks ( NOT Loaded with sugar ) Try EAS. It's whey and it's is low in carbs and sugar.
1 carb (if you do bread and pasta make sure it is whole wheat) and 1 protein for breakfast.
Carb, Protein, veggie for lunch and again for dinner. Remember your Fruits count as a carb. Choose healthy snacks in between and exercise. You should be feeling great! I do already and I am on day two. I can't wait till Monday!!!
Saturday, March 6th. A Chuck E. Cheese Birthday party for Mason one week early. Daddy was out of town on the 14th. So we had a party a little bit early. At least the first party........
Two of Mason's favorite guys. Chuck E. and Daddy!
I have to admit, I am happy that my Lyssie Bug still loves Chuck E. Staying young....for now.
My Baby Boy is not a Baby anymore! He's 4 Today! I love my little man. He still makes me melt! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MASON!He had a fun birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. Thank you Chuck E!! You ROCK! .......(ok....stay tuned for the pics....blogger is taking WAY to long to upload. I quit for now. )
What does this mean? Produce! Fresh, locally-grown produce delivered to my front door every Saturday. It competes with or beats the prices at the grocery store, and delivery is free. It also builds Michigan's economy....sadly, it could use a bit of a boost. really. I originally was introduced to "fresh delivered produce to your door" by Amy E. (my sis) who participates in a program similar to this in Pittsburgh. When I moved here last summer I looked for a company to do this for our family. Nothing. That is until last week.....thank you Pam! (she gets a box too) Today I got my first box. I am so excited! Strange to be excited over this??? No way. This is AWESOME in my book!
I always get excited about recipes that my family loves. Bryan will not eat anything with mayonnaise it. My friend Cally gave me this recipe for coleslaw that I hoped would be a winner. Here is the recipe- I don't know the name. I made a few small changes to the original.
1 head cabbage shredded 1 carrot grated 1 finely chopped onion (I use a small onion) 3/4 c. vinegar 3/4 c. oil 1 T. salt 1 T. celery seed 1/2 c. sugar ( I use 2/3 c.)
In a large bowl combine cabbage and carrot. Set aside. In a saucepan, combine remaining ingredients. Turn on heat and bring to a boil. I boil it just for about a min. to slightly soften the onion. Take off heat and immediately pour over cabbage and carrot. Set a plate on top big enough to cover the bowl and set in fridge 24 hrs. Before serving separate coleslaw from dressing with a slotted spoon and transfer into serving dish. Pair this up with your favorite wrap or sandwich. We tried it as a topping for a BBQ beef sandwich. Devour. :o)
This will be the last of the toothless grins at my house. At least until I am old and can take out my dentures. As of this past weekend, all my children now have teeth. :o( or :o) I have mixed feelings about this. Vivienne had her 9 month check up. 16 lbs. 11 ozs. 26 1/2 inches long and her head was in the 25% (can't remember the measurement) This picture resembles the most excited she ever gets. She is so calm. I hope I don't live to regret bragging about this all the time...... I just really needed one of the calm types aka little people in my home and I got one.
And, the camera did go missing, my friend found it in her couch, along with her phone......and we bought a new camera and have Bryan's work to thank for that one. It's a fun camera....takes great shots.....Here are some shots we took to play around with out new toy!
Harley....handsome little devil. Truly. Still not housebroken and chewing everything up that he gets his jaws around. This too shall pass.
Valentine's Day Roses.....from my Best Friend.....Joe.....oops, I mean Bryan! ;o)
It's....it's.......my replica.....ahhhh! She should only stay this way a few more days...I didn't hit her back too hard. I love you Alyssa!
